KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis Bhd is the first in the country to introduce the new Nano SIM for iPhone 5. Maxis customers who already have an iPhone 5 and planning to purchase the device can get the Nano SIM for RM25 starting yesterday at selected Maxis Centres in the Klang Valley. It will be made available at other Maxis Centres nationwide by the end of this month.

The Nano SIM design is
30 per cent smaller and 15 per cent thinner than the existing micro
SIM. Measuring 12.3 by 8.8 mm in size and 0.7 mm in thickness, the Nano
SIM offers device manufacturers the crucial advantage of freeing up extra space
for other mobile phone components such as additional memory or larger
batteries.
The much smaller Nano
SIM continues to use the same smart card chips like existing SIM cards, and
will offer the same functionality as all current SIM cards and is backwards
